Sometimes, all it takes is a tweak in our appearance to instantly make us feel more confident in ourselves, whether it is a new hairstyle, hair colour or Botox. Despite it perhaps seeming extreme and even a bit tabooed in the past, having cosmetic surgery nowadays is completely mainstream.
It is also not hard to see why more and more people are turning to Botox: facial dermal fillers and injectables have the ability to boost our self-confidence and image, because when we look our best, we tend to feel our best.
While Botox has long been used in the cosmetic industry as a way of removing lines and wrinkles, there is now plenty of evidence to suggest that it can actually improve your self-confidence.
In fact, Allergan, the manufacturer of Botox, conducted a recent study and discovered that women are now turning to Botox not for aesthetic reasons, but simply for boosting their self-confidence.
Previous studies have confirmed that people who have had Botox, consider themselves to be happier, more confident and more attractive than those who have not undergone the treatment.
Those in support of Botox also report having more successful relationships and careers after the treatment, demonstrating the effects of what a boost in self-esteem and confidence can trigger.
Some of the biggest stars in Hollywood are also openly speaking out about how Botox has improved their lives. American actress, Patricia Heaton, revealed in an interview with People magazine how after feeling self-conscious with her appearance throughout her successful career, she turned to Botox for help. Heaton argued that Botox does not have to be considered extreme or dramatic because, “if you do it so that you still look like yourself, you just look like your best self”.
Botox is a non-surgical procedure that can be carried out in approximately 30 minutes. It is so convenient and low-fuss that you will nit need to spend days after recovering. Changes are also noticeable fairly quickly, usually within a couple of days after the treatment.
